Teaching Philosophy
Art can speak or stand for anything, but it grows from experiences and relationships that individuals have with each other and their community. I hold an importance on individuals learning about their own communities and others. Learning about different world cultures through art touches on aesthetic, skill, history, and other content areas if you look close enough. When students learn about these different cultures including their own they grow as an individual and what better way to express that, but through art. In order to progress through their artwork, individuals need to understand these concepts and be able to express them not through the use of a medium or style, but through literacy. Art is a strength that can be used so positively for any content area and help mold an individual.
